Entrance Location
The Baytown Nature Center is a 450 acre peninsula surrounded by three bays on the west side of Baytown. The nature center is located across the Houston Ship Channel from the San Jacinto Monument State Park.
The entrance to the Baytown Nature Center is located at 6213 Bayway Drive. It is marked by a stone sign and by The Great Texas Coastal Birding Trail Sign. Stop at the Visitor Building drive-through window to pay entrance fees and get information about the nature center.
How to get there.
From the west (Houston) via Interstate 10
Take I-10 East to Baytown Spur 330 (Decker Dr.) exit. This is the second exit after crossing the San Jacinto River bridge. Take the Bayway Drive exit off of Spur 330 and turn right on Bayway Drive. Proceed on Bayway Drive for approximately two miles to the entrance to the Baytown Nature Center on the right.From the east (Beaumont) via Interstate 10
From the south via TX-146 or TX-225
Take the Baytown exit from TX-225 East to merge onto TX-146 North. Continue north on TX-146 across the Fred Hartman Bridge. Do not take the TX-146 Business route, but continue straight on TX-146 to the Spur 330 exit. Take Spur 330 West to the Bayway Drive exit. Turn left on Bayway Drive. Proceed on Bayway Drive for approximately two miles to the entrance to the Baytown Nature Center.Previous page: Hours & Fees
