Who are we?
Friends of the Baytown Nature Center is a non-profit corporation organized under the Texas Non-Profit Corporation Act.
Friends of the BNC include individuals, families, corporations and non-profit groups who believe in the importance of protecting, sustaining and improving Baytown Nature Center because of its rich historical past and unique wildlife habitat.
What do Friends do?
Friends work cooperatively with the City of Baytown Parks and Recreation Department in the continuing development and improvement of BNC.
We provide assistance in project planning, staffing public events, publicity, fundraising, and working as volunteers to complete improvement each year.
How do we operate?
Friends of the Baytown Nature Center operates according to the by-laws of the corporation.
We have a Board of Directors elected by the membership with directors serving rotating, three-year terms.
Officers of the corporation are elected annually by the Board of Directors.
Meetings are held monthly at the Eddie V. Gray Wetlands Center.
Volunteer workdays are organized periodically to complete projects at the nature center. Various committees are formed for task and projects.
